Nokia C5 breaks cover – first glimpse at the new C-Series
The Nokia C5 has been spotted online, giving us our first glimpse of the début C-Series device…
Following on from rumours that initially surfaced last summer, the first of the new Nokia C-series has been posing for the camera.
The rumours cropped up in July as a result of Nokia trademarking the
X-Series and C-Series brands, the X6 replacing the Xpress Music line-up and the C-Series to reportedly replace the current Classic range.
Details of the device arrived at DailyMobile.se courtesy of previously credited tipster, Cre_Rec. The report details that the C5 takes the traditional candybar, non-touch form factor, and will ship with a modest spec list to complement it’s mid-range price-tag.
Display-wise the C5 offers up a 2.2-inch QVGA to play with, and the onboard camera is an acceptable 3.2-megapixel offering. Other notable specs include, HSDPA/HSUPA connectivity options, A-GPS, and a 50MB internal memory that is expandable by using the microSD card slot.
Sadly, it’s mid-range price point is reflected once again through its use of the Symbian S60 3rd Edition (FP2) operating system, although some argue that it is better suited to non-touchscreen handsets than the current Symbian^1 OS.
If we’re honest we’re a little disappointed that Nokia hasn’t made better use of the excitement and opportunity of launching 2 brand new ranges with something truly revolutionary, hopefully the rest of the product line-ups will see interesting new developments in the future.
