Vodafone launches Samsung Genio Slide
Vodafone has launched the Samsung CorbyPRO, AKA the Genio Slide…
The Samsung Genio Slide has launched on Vodafone UK bringing higher spec features to the budget range of handsets.
Whether you call it the Genio Slide or CorbyPRO the specs are just the same; a sliding-Qwerty keyboard, high speed 7.2Mbps dual-band 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, GPS, and DivX support are amongst the more impressive, but the rest aren’t too shabby either and include microSD support up to 16GB, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP.
Perhaps the only two slightly compromised areas of the Genio Slide are the resistive 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen, and slightly meagre 3-megapixel camera; but then cost savings have to be made somewhere.
Like some other members of the Genio family, the Slide comes with the option of interchangeable battery covers to liven the handset up a little when things get a bit too familiar.
It’s available now directly from Vodafone for free on contracts of 12, 18 and 24-months. The shortest commitment will require a £25 contract, the 18-month, a £20 contract; and for the less commitment phobic the CorbyPRO can be snapped up for just £15 per month, as long as you agree to a 2-year leash.
