Discounted Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 UK release date and pre-order now live
The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is now available to pre-order online with an expected release date of mid-February…
It’s been a rough time for Sony Ericsson lately, particularly with the news that Vodafone, UK exclusivity holder for the Windows Mobile powered Xperia X2, will not be stocking the handset following the delays to its expected release.
That said, we thought all along that the X10 was a far more interesting
proposition with its 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, and Android operating system – both firsts for Sony Ericsson.
Other notable specs that piqued our interest include the 4-inch 854 x 480 pixel touchscreen display and the well appointed 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED-flash, face/smile detection, geo-tagging, and touch focus controls.
The X10 pre-order page at Play.com shows the handset as shipping with Android 1.6 but we’d expect there to be an upgrade to 2.1 in place by the time the handset starts flying off the shelves.
If you’re like us and have been counting the days waiting for the X10 then you can pre-order one now for £499, which is £50 less than the UK RRP.
For a full spec-run down, or to pre-order now thereby ensuring you get one on the day of release you can check out the Play.com listing.
