Next-gen iPhone release date – 17th July 09
The next generation of iPhone, the iPhone 3, will be lining itself up for a 17th July launch date according to online reports…
It’s the news that an awful lot of people have been waiting for; that the next iteration of iPhone should be winging its way to us for a July 17th launch date but don’t get too excited, it isn’t official just yet.
The revelation comes courtesy of Wired.com who stated members of Apple’s Hardware division as the source of the rumours.
The free-lipped fellow also confirmed many of the features that have been doing the rounds online for some time now, such as that the handset would come with an OLED screen which purportedly has increased battery duration by 1.5 times.
Likewise, that digital compass, video camera functionality and turn by turn directions have all been given the thumbs up according to the leak.
One of the coolest suggestions that we’ve heard so far is that there will be a gently glowing Apple logo on the rear of the handset, seemingly pointless, but a nice touch still.
It’s not long to wait now until we get an official announcement to cut through all the smoke and mirrors, we expect it to come next month at WWDC in June.
