New ELSE mobile enters smartphone fray
It’s a rare day when we get to say that there’s a completely new mobile manufacturer on the scene, but today is one of those days…
Israeli manufacturer Emblaze Mobile has announced the launch of its new mobile brand known as ELSE and operating
system called ELSE INTUITION.
The official page reads like a buzzlist of inspirational and aspirational words and phrases; for example, ambitious language like “ELSE’s Quest” quietly states its intention to be different from every other player in the market.
Promising a “user-experience-centric philosophy designed to enhance man-machine capabilities through pre-integration services and a revolutionary one-click user interface”.
From what we gather so far that means one continous navigation is possbile through the phone, rather than having a main menu and series of sub-menus there’s a spindle-like UI called sPlay that splays and flows info on the screen – the main point of which is that it all works on a slide and release system (including opening apps or making actions) meaning that prodding your way through overly complicated menus will be a thing of the past.
Under the bonnet there’s an in-house OS called ELSE INTUITION that is based on Linux and is the joint collaboration between Emblaze Mobile and Access.
Hardware wise there’s not too much to go on except that the device will likely feature a 3.5-inch 854×480 capacitive touchscreen display, proximity, ambient light and tilt sensors, and a 5-megapixel camera.
Check out some of the video’s below for a better idea of what to expect from this interesting new outfit; we like what we’re seeing so far. You can check out more details at FirstElse.com.
