"They were trying to sell their Girl Scout cookies and apparently, a male subject approached them, asked them if he could trade vodka for Girl Scout cookies", says Ardmore Police Captain Keith Ingle.

The new Girl Scout cookies aren't the only food (or drink) to chase the popularity of s'mores by recreating their flavor.

The other varieties are Thin Mints, Caramel deLites/Samoas, Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs, Shortbread/Trefoils, Do-Si-Dos/Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Trios (gluten free), Lemonades, Savannah Smiles, Thanks-A-Lot and Toffee-tastic (gluten free).

Nutrition: Made with no artificial colors, no high fructose corn syrup, no hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils, and no GMOs.

"The Cadette, Seniors and Ambassador girls worked the cookie rally earning community service hours while the Daisies, Brownies and Juniors enjoyed the festivities".

Toomer serves as Girl Scouts Service Unit Administrator for Troop 453, a territory that includes Gretna, Harvey and Terrytown.

The proceeds go directly to the local troops after payment to the baker.

"She's out, and I'm still doing Girl Scout cookies", Furtner said with a chuckle.

Toomer's team held its rally at the Westbank Regional Library in Harvey where 150 girls attended from various troops within the unit.

The Algiers Unit 450, led by Joanne Wagner, had 65 girls at its rally at the Woodland Presbyterian Church in Algiers.

The Scouts were able to go on guided tours through the museum's outdoor trail, then head inside for Girl Scout Cookies, and to check out the indoor exhibits.

Those looking to purchase cookies can check out the phone cookie locator app, which will help locate cookie sale booths in your area.

We'll try out some cookies and find out where you can get yours.

The program has come a long way from its inception in Muskogee, Oklahoma, in 1917 when a handful of homemade cookies were sold by the Mistletoe troop.

Wilderness Sports donated the snowshoes for the day, to accommodate the 100 people who showed up for the event.
