Punjab elections AAP claims nearly 6,000 NRIs have come back to help the party campaign

Udta Punjabis NRIs Arriving By Plane For AAP Not Ok Say Other Parties

Mr Goldy, a former Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee secretary, who had contested the 2008 Amritsar (South) assembly bypoll on Congress ticket, said he was happy to be back "home".

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Friday announced that Captain Amarinder Singh will be the party's chief ministerial candidate in Punjab. "He has always worked for Punjab". "If a weak government comes, or government of outsiders comes or those indulging in luxuries come into power, this will be bad for Punjab and the country".

"Congress is also responsible for the massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi".

In a veiled attack on the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Modi said, "Don't rely on those having aristocratic lifestyle and outsiders for the State and country's security... You have to ensure that you vote properly". He asked the people of Punjab to "return" those who have come from Delhi.

Drawing an analogy, Prime Minister Modi said that the Congress was struggling for power in a similar way as a fish does without water. Few people are speaking wrong about Badal Sahab.

If any political leader refuses to work for people, they teach him a lesson by not voting for him in the next elections, he said.

The Gandhi scion also came down heavily on the SAD-BJP alliance, saying the Parkash Singh Badal government has badly looted the people of Punjab in all these years. "Today they have said that every youth here is a drug addict. This capability is only with Parkash Singh Badal". The prime minister added that an Ethanol production plant will be set up soon in Punjab. He said the money was illegally grabbed by Captain and his family members during the Congress's 2002-2007 regime in Punjab when Amarinder headed a "corrupt" government. "The agency is working to identify the culprits and those responsible for it will be given stringent punishment", he said addressing a SAD-BJP rally at the grain market in Kotkapura.
